Tired Ford Fox Body Mustang Revived with Modern Speed Parts

Last year, Hemmings introduced REHAB, a new YouTube on taking a classic pony car and giving it some TLC to prolong its life. The first candidate for special treatment was a 1987 Chevrolet IROC Camaro, and although no car project is ever truly complete, it’s back on the road and more reliable than ever, so it’s time to move on to the next project for a new season.
Cue Fox Body Rehab Episode 1: Meet the Mustang. In the first episode of the second season, we find tons of potential in another ride that serves as a flashback to the late-1980s and early-’90s. The new project car is a 32-year-old Ford Mustang GT complete with a 5.0L V8 under the hood. Ford produced the Fox body Mustang from 1979-1993, and it is known for being a modder’s dream. The plans for this pony car are a bit different that last season’s IROC Camaro: We plan to prep it to run down the quarter mile drag strip in style. Watch as we kick off the Mustang’s rehab.
